SINCE ITS LAUNCH, BRICK X BRICK HAS DONATED OVER $2,750 TO CALVARY WOMEN’S SERVICES THANKS TO YOUR KINDNESS AND SUPPORT.

HERE’S HOW YOUR SUPPORT OF BRICK X BRICK STUDIO HAD A DIRECT IMPACT.

DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, CALVARY’S MISSION REMAINS THE SAME — TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND CARING HOME TO WOMEN IN NEED. NOW MORE THAN EVER, THEY ARE IN NEED OF SUPPORT TO ENSURE THEY MAINTAIN THIS HOME FOR ALL THE WOMEN IN THEIR HOUSING PROGRAMS. BRICK X BRICK WAS ABLE TO DONATE $600 IN EARLY APRIL TO CALVARY FROM PROCEEDS FROM THE DC ICONS PRINT COLLECTION.

Supplies for Art Class

$75 can provide supplies for an 8-week art class for all the women at Calvary. The art classes are cathartic, fun and engaging and they are a favorite at Calvary. Since the BRICK x BRICK Mission is driven by a love for art and design, BRICK x BRICK has donated proceeds to fund supplies for three 8-week art classes, totaling $225.

Safe Housing

$30 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds provided a night of safe housing for one woman. There are not enough places for single women in DC who are experiencing homelessness. Having a safe space to lay down at night is essential in order to get back on your feet, and women can find that at Calvary.

Relapse Prevention Group

$175 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds ensured that all the women at Calvary have access to daily relapse prevention group meetings for one week as they work on maintaining their sobriety. Meetings are facilitated by an addiction recovery counselor.

Job Placement Support

$125 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds provided a woman with one month of job placement services. Calvary's job, placement program, Step Up DC, equips women with interview, negotiation, and job skills they need to be successful. 90% of women who secure employment with Calvary's support end their homelessness for good.

Daily Life-skills, Education & Art Classes

$388 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds provided a week of daily life skills, education and art classes for all of the women at Calvary. Women can choose from a number of classes including meditation, negotiation skills, yoga, geography, health, gardening and the list goes on! These classes help bring structure, joy and a sense of community to the women at Calvary.

Education Program

$192 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds provided supplies for education classes for all the women at Calvary for one week. Whether a woman wants to earn her GED, take higher education classes or practice their math skills, Calvary has all the supplies they need to be successful.

Fill a Kitchen

$125 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds filled a kitchen with everything the women at Reach Up, Calvary’s newly opened housing location, need to cook and feel at home. Like any home, the kitchen is the gathering place. Filling these kitchens helps make each kitchen feel comfortable and ready to use.

Domestic Violence Support Group

$300 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds provided three hour-long domestic violence group support sessions for the women at Reach Up. 15 beds at Reach Up are reserved for women fleeing domestic violence- these are the only reserved beds for domestic violence survivors without children in DC.

First 24 hours at Reach Up

$90 from BRICK x BRICK proceeds provided one woman with 24 hours of safe housing, health services and education and employment programs. The first 24 hours are so important at Calvary. They need to be ready to welcome women and make them feel comfortable and safe as soon as they walk in the door.
